We first randomly file the marbles into the main rail which lead down to the first gear. That first gear is attached to a motor which files the marbles to the next gear one by one. That next gear stops the marble for enough time for a light and sensor to scan the marble to tell the servo which way to turn. After the marble is read, the gear sends the marble through and down the track and based on how the marble was read, the servo had turned a panel a certain direction, forcing the marble to be sent in that direction, into the right compartment. Our VEX machine sorts out 3 different types of marbles, Wood, White plastic, and metal.
